Harvesting honey

So...you've worked hard at setting up your hives, installing and feeding your bees, and they've grown to be very healthy and productive! You may be able to harvest a little honey in the late summer or early fall of the first season, or you may have to wait until the second year to get a harvest. Whatever the case, harvesting your own honey is very rewarding and, although it requires a bit of effort, is always worth it! If you've ever heard horror stories about harvesting honey, don't worry...they did it wrong! If you study a little and make sure that you're prepared for whatever you find when you begin the process, you should find that things will go smoothly, and be enjoying your own honey within a couple of days.
